Irish Water has confirmed that the works to upgrade the Lough Talt water treatment plant will be completed by the end of 2020.
The facility will benefit approximately 13,000 people.
There is currently a ‘Boil Water Notice’ on the scheme.
It’s also been confirmed that commercial customers will receive a 40 per cent rebate on the cost of the supply of water to their businesses for the duration of the boil water notice and the rebate will be back dated to February 2018.
Minister of State at the department of Health and Sligo Leitrim TD, Frank Feighan says it’s vital that the upgrade works were completed despite the challenges associated with the Covid-19
