There’s an increasing Covid-19 incidence rate in all local electoral areas of County Sligo.
There has, however, been a reduction in the overall rate in both Leitrim and Donegal.
The rate of infection compared to last week in all local electoral areas in Co. Sligo, and in north Leitrim, has increased.
393 cases were recorded between October 13th and 26th; 286 in County Sligo, 70 in South Donegal and 37 in the Manorhamilton area.
Broken down into rate of infection, the rate in Sligo/Strandhill has increased from 582.1 to 733.6, Sligo/Drumcliff has gone from 339.5 to 362.1 and in Ballymote/Tubbercurry the rate has gone up from 187 to 250.6.
The rate of infection for the county is 401.3 . . .that’s an increase from 396.7 last week.
In South Donegal the rate has decreased from 320.9 to 264.2; the rate for the county is 317.2, down from 321.
While Manorhamilton has increased, going from 277.2 last week to 341.9 this week; the rate for Leitrim county is 174.8, down from 271.5.
Yesterday, the Health Protection Surveillance Centre confirmed 866 new cases and 6 additional deaths ; 56 of the new cases were in Donegal.
