Christmas is coming early for more than 13,000 people in South Sligo.
In news just breaking, it’s expected that the Boil Water Notice on the Lough Talt Water Supply Scheme will be lifted today.
The move will mark the end of a three-year ordeal for Irish Water customers in the area.
The Notice had been issued after cryptosporidium was discovered in the supply. It had been lifted in October 2018 but was reissued in January 2019.
Speaking to Ocean FM News in the past few minutes, Sligo/Leitrim TD Marian Harkin says Irish Water has just told her the latest good news.
