The contract has been awarded for the construction of a second primary care centre in north Sligo.
Preparatory work has already started on the site of the new centre in Drumcliffe while the contract has now been approved for the new centre in Grange.
Both centres will provide a range of services in a variety of specialities, with one primary care team operating from both centres.
Fianna Fail Councillor Donal Gilroy, a member of the Regional Health Forum West, says it’s a welcome Christmas gift for the north Sligo area.
