The CEO of Sligo LEADER Partnership Company says a recent funding announcement by a government minister provides ‘welcome clarity’ for the year ahead.
It’s after Minister Heather Humphreys announced arrangements for what’s being described as ‘a transitional’ LEADER programme for 2021.
There had been concern over the lack of clarity in government plans for LEADER ahead of the expiry of the current programme at the end of this month.
Sligo LEADER Partnership Company CEO John Feerick says the provision of funding for new projects in communities next year is welcome, particularly in view of Brexit and recovery from the Covid-19 pandemic.
He also said the granting of flexibilities in relation to completion of the current programme was welcome after the difficulties experienced by LEADER companies due to the pandemic.
