A Sligo publican has described the decision to shut Gastropubs and Restaurants on Christmas Eve as a devastating blow that many businesses will never recover from.
Blaine Gaffney runs Lillies in Sligo has invested heavily in his business in recent months in order to ready for the expected festive rush and to comply with Covid-19 restrictions.
He says the expected measures forcing them to close on Christmas Eve will have deflating impact on business owners who will have to lay off staff.
