The long awaited Western Distributor Road in Sligo is to open to traffic on Monday.
Phase 2 of the project has been completed and the route will open from 4pm.
A formal opening will take place when public health guidelines permit.
Independent Sligo Councillor, Marie Casserly, is welcoming the news saying it will relieve a lot of the traffic that motorists have been experiencing.
