A Donegal TD and former Minister for Education has firmly dismissed reports claiming that some primary school teachers are tutoring students in their homes during Level 5 restrictions.
It has also been claimed that primary school teachers have placed ads on an online forum saying they’re available for one-on-one tuition, with some making it clear they are “willing to travel” to a student’s home for the lessons.
Former Minister for Education Joe McHugh says that he is surprised by the claims and adds that teachers have acted with integrity from the very outset of the Covid-19 pandemic.
