Online meetings in Donegal to prevent bank closures

Sinn Fein is to hold a number of online public meetings throughout Donegal to call for Bank of Ireland branches to be kept open.

The meetings are to take place in the five towns where the bank yesterday confirmed it is to close branches from September.

The Bundoran meeting will be on Tuesday of next week (March 9th) at 8pm.

Meetings in Bunbeg and Moville will take place on Monday next (March 8th), in Dungloe on Tuesday 9th and Glenties on Wednesday 10th.

Full details on all meetings are available from Sinn Fein.

Bundoran based councillor Mick McMahon rejects the school of thought put forward by Bank of Ireland that there is only a demand for online banking services.

The Sinn Fein Councillor says Bank of Ireland should explain why they are closing so many branches.
