It’s been reported that up to 300 mourners attended the funeral of a member of the travelling community in Carrick-on-Shannon yesterday.
Garda say strict travel restrictions were breached at the burial.
Dozens of British and Northern-registered cars were also reported in the area and a marquee was erected for mourners.
The CEO of the HSE Paul Reid has said he “extremely condemns” the scenes.
Under Level 5 lockdown attendance at funerals is limited to just ten – only close family should attend the church and graveyard.
