Gardai say a technical examination of the scene of last Friday evening’s fire that badly damaged the old Summerhill College building in Sligo has concluded and the results will determine the course of the investigation.
The sale of the building is currently the subject of High Court proceedings.
The original owners of the building had been the Diocese of Elphin but it sold the property. It was subsequently sold again by new owners.
The fire last Friday evening caused significant damage to the property, including to the roof.
Gardaí in Sligo are appealing for information and want to hear from anyone who was in the vicinity of the building from 7.30pm on April 23.
