The purchase of a building in Tubbercurry by the Office of Public Works to be used by Gardaí based in the area has been welcomed.
The property will also be used by staff from the Department of Social Protection.
Cathaoirleach of Sligo County Council, Dara Mulvey is welcoming the announcement as he says the current facilities at Tubbercurry Garda Station are not up to a proper standard and is highlighting the need for greater investment.
Speaking to OceanFM News, he says the building purchase is good news for the community and Gardaí in Tubbercurry and South Sligo.
