Second-half fade out ends Sligo’s promotion hopes



The concession of three second half goals cost Sligo dearly in Sunday’s Division 4 North game against Louth in Dundalk as Mickey Harte ran out comprehensive 3-18 to 1-14 winners.

The result ends Sligo’s promotion hopes in Division 4.

Sligo produced a strong first-half performance and had established a five-point lead at one stage – with Mikey Gordon supplying the goal.

They led 1-9 to 0-9 at the interval, but then followed a second-half collapse as Louth took charge and had 10 points to spare by the finish.
