The Minister for Transport, Eamon Ryan, has announced what’s being described as an ‘enhanced’ TFI Local Link services for Leitrim.

The expanded network will start next month.

The improved Transport for Ireland Local Link services for Leitrim will result in an increase from two to six routes operating in County Leitrim, with connections to towns in Donegal and Sligo.

The routes include:

Ballinamore/Drumshanbo/Keadue/Sligo,

Kinlough/Bundoran/Ballyshannon,

Dowra/Drumkeeran/Dromahair/Sligo,

Drumshanbo/Leitrim/Carrick on Shannon and

Carrick on Shannon/Manorhamilton.

Developed in collaboration with the HSE, the revised network is designed to meet the demands of everyone, including the needs of passengers with disabilities and those attending non-emergency healthcare services in the county.

All services will be operating using accessible vehicles, including low-floor buses.

Former Sligo/Leitrim general election candidate for the Green Party Bláithín Gallagher says she is delighted to see those with disabilities and mobility issues are being catered for.

Local residents, commuters, students and tourists will all benefit from the increased schedule.

Free Travel Pass holders will also be able to use their pass on the services.
