Locals noticing what appears to be oil on the surface of the River Eske are raising concern.
There have been reports of the oil for a number of weeks with the recent rainfall yesterday exacerbating the issue.
Local Independent Councillor, Tom Conaghan, has been informed by the Donegal County Council that Inland Fisheries Ireland and the Department of the Environment are to investigate to see if a source can be found.
Speaking to OceanFM News, Councillor Conaghan says he has been assured the problem will be dealt with as soon as possible.
