The lack of affordable housing in Leitrim will be one of the biggest challenges to the Local authority’s ambition of growing the population of the County.
That’s according to Drumshanbo Councillor Enda McGloin.
The Fine Gael Councillor says it has become clear that the supply of affordable housing for first-time buyers has diminished drastically over the past 12 months.
Cllr. McGloin added that if supply continues to dwindle this will also increase house prices.
The Ballinamore Municipal Councillor says that while there are challenges in securing planning permission there are also issues in relation to diminishing supplies of housing and rising building costs.
