Kilcar lodge Donegal county final objection

Kilcar GAA Club have confirmed that they have lodged an objection to Donegal GAA over the number of substitutes used by opponents Naomh Conaill during last Saturday night’s 2020 senior championship final.

Naomh Conaill won the game on penalties after the sides had finished level 2-7 to 0-13 at the end of extra-time.

Kilcar claim that Naomh Conaill used more than the allowed number of substitutes during the contest – specifically during extra-time.

GAA rules allowed three subs to be made during extra-time.

Kilcar contend that their opponents made more than three changes during the extra period.

According to the rulebook, if it’s found that there was a breach of rule, Donegal’s Central Competitions Control Committee can award the game to Kilcar, fine Naomh Conaill or order a replay.

The Towney club confirmed their objection on social media on Tuesday evening.
