A Donegal Councillor says it’s hoped problems with the sewage treatment plant in Mountcharles will soon be solved following the announcement that it is to be linked to the system in Donegal Town.
The Mountcharles plant is to be upgraded under the Small Towns and Villages Growth Programme.
The aim of the project is to cease discharge in Mountcharles, transferring flows to the Donegal Town network.
Independent Councillor Tom Conaghan says Councillors in the Donegal Municipal District had been working behind the scenes to get a resolution to the issue.
