A Donegal TD says Credit Unions must be able to offer the same services as banks.
Independent Deputy, Thomas Pringle says Credit Unions make decisions based on the needs of their local communities which he believes makes them better equipped to deal with it’s members compared to traditional banks.
He made the comments in the Dail where Deputies were debating the Credit Union (Amendment) Bill 2021 which was introduced by Sligo/Leitrim Independent TD, Marian Harkin.
Deputy Pringle believes more supports are needed for community banking.
