Gardaí in Sligo this week conducted a number of searches as part of ‘Operation Douglas’. The searches also involved officers from the Garda Dog and the Garda Water Unit.
Operation Douglas targets criminal activity in organised crime and drug detection as well as addressing theft and damage caused to boats and other property along the coastline and Islands.

The government has been urged to immediately establish a Citizens Assembly on drugs, to deal with the crisis situation in Ireland.
The Taoiseach will open a Webinar on the subject later this morning where he will hear that there has been 225 % increase in drug related deaths in the last 25 years.
Mr. Martin will also hear how cocaine use in Ireland has increased by over ten-thousand percent since 1996.
