It’s emerged that Donegal Gardaí have been unable to respond to some emergency calls as members do not have a vehicle to attend.
Vice President of the Garda Representative Association, Brendan O’Connor says it’s something that is ‘hard to comprehend’ in the modern day.
The most recent Donegal Joint Policing Committee heard that numerous applications have been made for new vehicles, however, it will be the new year before any purchases will be made at the earliest.
Brendan O’Connor says it seems Garda HQ only start looking for replacements when vehicles are no longer usable.
