A Donegal TD is calling for early public consultation to take place prior to large-scale residential developments going to the planning stage.
Independent TD, Thomas Pringle, has criticised Government planning legislation for not requiring early public consultation in relation to such large-scale residential developments.
He says it’s vital that the communities where the developments are taking place in would be able to get involved in the process at a very early stage. Such a move he suggests would be advantageous for the developers, local community and county councils all over the county.
Deputy Pringle addressed the matter this week in the Dáil where he proposed a number of amendments.
Speaking to ocean FM News Deputy Pringle says it should not be difficult for local authorities to identify community groups and organisations that would best represent the communities where the projects would be taking place.
