A number of vigils are being held around the region and the country over the coming days in memory of Ashling Murphy.
People are meeting from 7.30pm at the Market Square in Manorhamilton, Co. Leitrim and also from 8pm this evening at the Church carpark for a candlelight vigil.
A walk /jog is taking place from 4pm on Saturday at Grange playground, with people asked to bring a candle.
A solidarity walk is being organised from 4pm on Sunday at Doorly Park in Sligo.
A vigil is also being held at the pier in Enniscrone at 6pm this evening.
People are meting at the Fairgreen in Collooney at 5pm on Saturday. Please bring a candle and adhere to social distance.
In Donegal Town, a vigil begins at 6.30pm on The Diamond and on The Diamond in Ardara on The Diamond from 5pm.
Carmel McNamee, General Manager of Domestic Violence Advocacy Group for Sligo, Leitrim and West Cavan will be speaking at the event at Doorly Park on Sunday.
Cathoirleach of Leitrim County Council, Paddy O’Rourke says it is a tragic situation.
He is urging people to allow the Gardaí to do their work and not spread rumours or gossip.
