A Donegal TD is calling on the government to investigate the alleged use of heavy handed tactics by Gardai which were reported to have taken place during the Troubles in Northern Ireland.
Independent TD for Donegal, Thomas Pringle says the state needs to investigate the claims which surfaced in recent RTE documentaries. It was claimed that such action took place during the Kerry Babies case and during investigations into Republican activity.
The Donegal TD says it’s unacceptable that gardai were allowed to operate in such a manner.
Deputy Pringle says it’s important the claims are fully investigated.
