A Leitrim councillor is claiming the general public feel that they have become disconnected from members of An Garda Siochana.
Today’s meeting of the Leitrim Joint Policing Committee will hear calls for measures to be put in place to to help make local gardaí better known to their communities, and enable them become an integral part of these communities.
Councillor Justin Warnock says that with fewer Garda stations now open, most people in many areas are completely unfamiliar with the Gardai.
