Four motorists were arrested in Leitrim over the weekend.
Gardai assisted by personnel from customs conducted Mandatory Intoxicant Testing checkpoints as part of the bank holiday roads policing operations.
Over 50 motorists were tested, resulting in four arrests, one was positive for alcohol while the other three were positive drug tests.
Two drivers were found to be driving unaccompanied on learner permits and their vehicles were detained
Fines were also issued for other road traffic offences.
