The Garda commissioner Drew Harris will be called on today to address the current deficits that exist in garda frontline units.
The GRA annual Delegate conference is taking place today and tomorrow in Westport.
The call on the commissioner to address the deficits which is leaving Gardaí exposed to violent attacks has been made following the assault on a uniformed member of the force in Blacklion in County Cavan earlier this year.
Sligo native Garda James Morrisroe is a GRA representative in Cavan/ Monaghan.
Speaking to earlier to ocean FM news he says more need to be done to replenish the force.
