New Cathaoirleach identifies Housing, Fishing and Education as key priorities



The incoming chairperson of the Donegal MD of the local authority has identified housing as one of the biggest challenges facing the council at present.

 

Independent Councillor Niamh Kennedy was appointed to the position of Cathaloirleach of the Donegal Municipal District today at it’s Annual General meeting.

 

Cllr Kennedy will succeed the Fine Gael Councillor Barry Sweeney in the position.

 

Meanwhile another Independent Councillor Tom Conaghan is expected to take over the role of Leas Cathaloirleach.

 

Cllr Kennedy says she will also prioritise greater supports for the ATU and the Fishing community in Killybegs during the here tenure as MD chairperson.
