Sligo County Council is being urged to enter discussions with Transport Infrastructure Ireland about providing a segregated cycle route between Sligo and the Leitrim border.
It’s thought that the absence of such infrastructure is making cyclists apprehensive to use the N15.
Local Independent Cllr Marie Casserly says providing such a route would have far-reaching benefits.
Cllr Casserly say there are also funding avenues for the Council to explore in order to make it happen:
