There were 30 people waiting for a bed at the two main North West hospitals this morning.
19 people were waiting at Sligo University Hospital while a further 11 were waiting at Letterkenny.
Nationally, there were 400 people waiting at hospitals across the country today. while
The Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation have called for electives to be rescheduled at Galway University Hospital.
This comes as over 70 patients are without a bed in the hospital, the highest level of overcrowding there since 2019 making it the second most overcrowed hospital in the country today after Limerick University Hospital.
