There was gut-wrenching disappointment for Donegal in Saturday’s TG4 All-Ireland senior football semi-final as champions Meath edged to a 0-12 to 1-7 victory at Croke Park.
Donegal led 1-3 to 0-3 at half-time thanks to a first-half penalty from team captain Niamh McLaughlin.

However, Meath produced a strong third quarter to lead by 0-9 to 1-3.
Although, Donegal did manage to draw level in the closing stages (1-6 to 0-9), Emma Duggan kicked the games final three scores to edge Meath back into the All-Ireland.

The Royals will play Kerry in the final on Sunday, July 31st – after the Kingdom reached their first All-Ireland final for 10 years with a nine-point victory over Mayo.
