Sligo Rovers were beaten 2-1 by Athlone Town in Saturday’s SSE Airtricity Women’s National League game at the Showgrounds.
Gillian Keenan scored in the 86th minute to clinch all three points for the visitors, who had to come from behind after Gemma McGuinness had given Rovers a first-half lead after just eight minutes.

Madison Gibson brought Athlone Town level before half-time – before Keenan popped up to score the winner in the closing moments of the game.
The Athlone Town team also included Gurteen’s Roisin Molloy and Manorhamilton’s Muireann Devaney.
