More national titles for Sligo’s Cadden & Donegal’s McGlynn

Sligo Athletic Club’s Lauren Cadden (pictured top) claimed another sprint title at the National U23 track & field championships in Tullamore on Sunday when she won gold in the women’s 200m final.

Cadden clocked a time of 24,42 seconds to finish ahead of Molly Hourihan (Dundrum) and Laura Nally (Galway City Harriers).

This win follows on from her recent national senior 200m title success in Santry a few weeks ago.

Donegal’s Lucy McGlynn (pictured bottom) was also in sparkling form in Tullamore, winning two national titles.

The Tir Chonaill AC athlete won the junior 400m hurdles final in 1:01.22 – before doubling up to claim gold in the 100m hurdles with a time of 14.02secs.

Her time in the 400 was quick enough to earn a place at next month’s World under-20 athletics championships in Colombia.

McGlynn’s Tir Chonaill AC clubmate Siobhan Doherty, won the under-23 women 3000m walk in a time of 15:57.28.
