North West Fire Departments on heightened alerts as temperatures soar



With temperatures continuing to soar across the region warnings have been issued by the Sligo Fire department in relation to the danger of gorse fires.

 

Met Eireann are forecasting that temperatures are going to soar for the remainder of the week and have issued a national high weather warning, as a result fire departments across the region are on a heightened state of alert.

 

Temperatures are expected to reach between 27 to 29 degrees on Thursday to Saturday.

It will also be uncomfortably warm at night, as temperatures won’t drop below 15 degrees in the coming days.
