The Border Communities against Brexit has expressed concern over speculation that the Tory Leadership candidate Liz Truss will trigger article 16 is she elected as the next Prime Minister.
The Border group have accused the UK Government of refusing to hold any talks with the EU on the Irish Protocol adding that they deliberately set about publishing a Bill and voting it through its stages in the House of Commons which will trash the Protocol and break international law.
Border Communities spokesperson Damian McGenity is calling on the European Commission and Member States to stand firm, and stick to the International deal they signed with the UK Government.
