The President of the GRA says while he hopes the shortfall in frontline Gardai in Sligo will be addressed as part of the Budget, a modern workforce plan needs to be drawn up to ensure that problem areas nationwide are tackled.
Donegal based Garda Brendan O’Connor has given a cautious welcome to news that 1,000 additional Gardai are to be recruited as part of Budget 2023.
Speaking to Ocean FM news, Garda O’Connor says while staffing issues in the force have been acknowledged, thing will have to change if the Budget plan is to deliver:
