Sligo senior women’s rugby team made a winning start to their Connacht league campaign on Sunday with a comprehensive 58-5 win over Westport at Hamilton Park in Strandhill.
There are eight teams contesting the Connacht women’s league this season: Sligio, Our Lady’s Boys Club, Corrib RFC, Rhiann Galway Corinthians, Galwegians, Westport, University of Galway and Tuam/Oughterard.
Training for the Sligo women’s rugby team continues every Monday and Wednesday from 7.30-9pm.
New players are always welcome – and no previous experience is necessary.
