It’s thought that extending both the schedule and locations of where the rural link service caters to would throw a lifeline to areas such as north Leitrim.
There’s ongoing concern over a decline in taxi services locally, particularly during night time hours and has led to calls for the rural link bus to step in.
The issue is to be raised at today’s sitting of Leitrim County Council by Cllr Felim Gurn.
Cllr Gurn believes that the taxi issue is so severe that it’s preventing people from going out in rural areas:
