A Sligo Leitrim TD has expressed concern over the difficulties that Tusla the Child and family agency are experiencing when it comes to retaining staff.
More than 700 Tusla employees have left the agency over the last 21 months.
According to details released under the Freedom of Information Act, 347 staff left ty last year.
Factors such as lack of job satisfaction, promotional opportunities, and unsuitable hours were some of the reasons for their departure.
Sligo Leitrim TD Martin Kenny is the Sinn Féin spokesperson for Justice, he says it’s concerning to see many staff leave Tusla at a time when more inspections than ever are required due to the ever increasing number of refugees coming into the country and many other children being placed at risk due to the cost of living crisis.
