A Sligo Leitrim TD has claimed that several consultants from Sligo University Hospital have written to her, outlining their grave concerns regarding the facility.
It’s understood that the letter details the stark reality on the ground including the high level of overcrowding and various health and safety issues for both patients and staff.
Independent TD Marian Harkin says the letter makes for grim reading and believes that it’s now at a point where the Health Minister can no longer ignore the situation at Sligo:
