Sligo’s Conan O’Donnell joins Toronto Arrows

Sligo’s Conan O’Donnell has joined Canadian rugby team, the Toronto Arrows, on a six-month contract.

The 26-year-old prop moves from  New Zealand side Northland, where he’s been playing in the National Provincial Championship.

The Toronto Arrows are Canadian’s sole professional rugby team and compete in rugby’s North American Major League.

O’Donnell, a PRO-12 winner with Connacht in 2016 is a much-travelled player globably at this stage, having also previously played with the Sunwolves in Japan in the 2019 Super Rugby campaign.

He’s had spells with three different New Zealand clubs: Crusaders, Highlanders and Northland.

“Conan is a very talented, high-energy player who brings size and experience gained from playing in the top leagues across the globe,” said Mark Winokur, Toronto Arrows Chief Operating Officer and General Manager.

“We’re really looking forward to seeing him in blue and white this season.”
