As commitment levels go in gaelic games, Kilkenny footballer Sarah Smith’s will take some beating.
Last Sunday, she was part of the Kilkenny football team who were making a return to the Lidl national football league in Division 4 this season.
Sarah, who’s a student in Galway, drove to the game on Sunday but her vehicle left the road en-route to the match.
The sole occupant of the car, Sarah was unhurt in the incident – and later got a lift to the venue where she played the full sixty minutes for Kilkenny.
Leitrim were decisive winners on a final scoreline of 7-26 to 0-5.
