Ballymote teenager Michael Lavin has joined English League One side Ipswich Town.
Lavin, who was on the Academy books with Sligo Rovers, is one of three Irish players to move to Ipswich’s youth set-up.
Daniel O’Connor (Galway United) and Leon Ayinde (Cork City) are the other two.
Ipswich are currently managed by highly rated Enniskillen native Ciaran McKenna, who was previously a first-team coach at Manchester United.
They are currently 3rd in the League One table and pushing hard for promotion.
Lavin, who’s 18, is a midfielder and is a younger brother of Sligo gaelic footballer and Connacht under-20 championship winning captain Jack Lavin.
