A Leitrim Fianna Fail Councillor has welcomed the return of former party leader Bertie Ahern to the party.
Drumkeerin based councillor is the longest serving member of the local authority in Leitrim and she says she would welcome the return of Bertie Ahern to the party fold ahead of the 25th anniversary of the good Friday agreement.
The former Taoiseach resigned from the party in 2012.
At the time, Micheál Martin was making moves to expel him over the findings of the Mahon Tribunal.
Speaking to OceanFM news Cllr. Bohan says the efforts of Bertie Ahern and others in bring peace to these islands and preventing the further loss of lives should never be taken for granted.
