Concerns over the impact that afforestation is having on many communities in the North West were recently raised with a top European Commission official.
Representatives from the Save Leitrim Group held meetings last week with Humberto Delgado Rosa who is the Director for Natural Capital and the Environment with the European Commission.
The meeting was facilitated by the Midlands North West MEP, Luke Ming Flanagan.
Manorhamilton Municipal District Councillor, Justin Warnock attended the meeting.
He says forestry practices here have raised red flags with Humberto Delgado Rosa.
