Killybegs clubman Niall Erskine was unsuccessful in his bid to become to 41st President of the GAA at Annual Congress on Friday night.
Armagh’s Jarlath Burns was elected as Larry McCarthy’s successor in 2024 after an emphatic victory at Croke Park.
Burns, who lost out narrowly to McCarthy three years ago, received 158 votes in the first round ballot on Friday night, which saw him exceed the quota.
Offaly’s Pat Teehan received 70 votes with Erskine getting 49.
Burns, an Ulster championship winning captain with Armagh in 1999, will begin his three-year Presidency in 2024.
