Finn Harps lose season opener to Galway



Finn Harps opening league game of the new League of Ireland First Division season ended in a 2-1 home defeat to Galway United at Finn Park on Friday night.

Galway, who are managed by Johnny Caulfield and have former Harps boss Ollie Horgan as his assistant, took an early lead from a free-kick after just three minutes by Vincent Borden

Harps drew level before half-time through a Ryan Rainey penalty.

However, the visitors American recurit Borden popped again on 61 minutes to score a second goal, which proved to be the matchwinner.
