Green Party leader and Transport Minister Eamon Ryan faced some backlash on social media over the weekend after showing a map which appeared to leave Donegal out of a national announcement for new bus services.
The Connecting Ireland Rural Mobility Plan for 2023 includes 67 new or enhanced Connecting Ireland bus services with a service from Sligo – Cavan among the local highlights.
While there were two routes in Donegal included, the map Minister Ryan was showcasing appeared to leave the county completely blank.
However, local Green Party Representative Blaithin Gallagher has given reassurances that rural transport is working well in Donegal and the north west:
