There were almost 60 people awaiting admission to the two main North West hospitals this morning.
41 were waiting at Sligo University Hospital while a further 16 were waiting at Letterkenny.
Limerick University Hospital was the most overcrowded in Ireland with 90 people waiting there.
Nationally, there were 634 people waiting at hospitals across the country today.
