Cash still serves major purpose in rural communities – Doherty



Cash still serves a major purpose, especially in rural communities and those less well off in society.

 

That’s according to Donegal Sinn Fein TD Pearse Doherty who says that despite its decline, a cashless society is not desirable.

 

The Government will not oppose a motion that seeks to ensure that access to cash will be protected.

 

The motion is calling on the Government to ensure that banks continue to provide cash services throughout the country.
